Aerosol dry shampoo.

Dry shampoo in an aerosol can often contains alcohols that leave your hair dry, brittle, and prone to breakage.

Back in the day (ok, back in the 90’s, which really isn’t that long ago) aerosol cans contained chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) which played a major role in the depletion of the Ozone layer. CFCs have now been banned in most countries, however, not in all.

Unfortunately, most aerosol cans (including the ones you use for dry shampoo) use volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to propel their product. Once in the air, VOCs contribute to ground-level Ozone levels, contributing to smog production.

1. Gently tap/shake the bottom of the container to settle any loose powder.
2. Unscrew the lid.

*Be careful as you do this to prevent spilling the powder. It is best to open the container in a vertical position with the lid facing up.

1. Shake dry shampoo onto fingers or directly onto hair.
2. Brush through (if necessary) to spread powder.
3. Tousle your hair to finish.

*Keep your shaker for future refills.

Your dry shampoo will be shipped in a compostable paper bag that can be thrown into your compost bin.
