The Idea
You’ve been there. You find the perfect spot on a white-sand beach with turquoise water glimmering under the afternoon sun and you can’t wait to dive in. Only when you do, you find more plastic than fish. Swimming alongside a soda bottle, you feel angry, sad, overwhelmed, and guilty on behalf of humans everywhere for polluting environments we don’t own. But in an instant, the moment can become an opportunity. Grab the soda bottle and a few more on your way back to shore. Feel inspired, even empowered to make a difference.

Little things can become big things if everyone does them. It’s in moments of opportunity like these that life UNpacked was born. We can’t change the world on our own or with good intentions alone, but we can start small and create space for ourselves and others to do more.

We chose to start with self-care products because toothbrushes, toothpaste, and soap are things everyone needs and most people use plastic for. Yet, eco-friendly alternatives can be made effective, accessible, stylish, and affordable for all. Through self-care products, life UNpacked is building a community of green groomers with a common goal.

Shifting from a plastic bottle of shampoo to a bar won’t change the world, but it’s a great place to start — start realizing how much single-use plastic we bring into our homes; start changing our consumption habits; and start conversations about the impact of the choices we make.

It’s about sharing the responsibility of protecting our beautiful planet by revealing the connection between our everyday habits and a sustainable future for all.
